KB31969: Personal prompt answer is applied to a prompted report that has been saved with a different prompt answers in MicroStrategy Web

SYMPTOM:
Users notice that after saving a report with the current prompt answer to be used as the default prompt answer, that instead their default personal prompt answer is being shown in Strategy Web 9.x and above
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Execute the following in Strategy Tutorial:
 

• Execute a report that already contains a prompt that is using a Default personal prompt answer. For this example the prompt on the Year attribute contains a default personal prompt answer of 2006.
   
  

• Go to the Data menu and select Re-prompt.
   
  

• Select different prompt answers such as with Year 2008 and 2009.
   
  

• Execute the report
• Save this new report, selecting to keep the report prompted and the new prompt answer as the default prompt answers for this report.
   
  

• Run the newly saved report and notice how the default personal prompt answer from the original report is applied to the new report even though it was saved with new prompt answers:
   
  

 
CAUSE:
A user's personal prompt default answer is always used even if the option to use the current default prompt answers is selected.
This is working by design in Strategy Web 9.x. and above
