This article describes the function of the redundant delete queries issued by the Intelligence Server when purging Statistics at the server level.

SYMPTOM
Strategy Intelligence Server 10.x issues apparently redundant delete queries when purging Statistics at the server level.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. From Strategy Diagnostics editor, enable the Database class > SQL Trace
  2. Open Developer and navigate to Intelligence Server Configuration -> Statistics -> Purge
  3. Specify the Dates and click “Purge now”
  4. Check the SQL Trace log. It is seen that there are multiple sets of the same 38 delete queries executed against the database.

CAUSE
This is working by design. Each project may write statistics information to different statistics databases. Hence, the set of 38 delete queries are executed against every database to which each project write statistics.

ACTION

There is no action needed as this is working by design.
