SUMMARY
When installing Strategy 10.X Secure Enterprise Platform on a Windows Server operating system, a shortcut for Strategy Service Manager is created in the common user Startup folder. This is meant to launch Strategy Service Manager in the background whenever a user logs into that Windows machine. However, users will find that Service Manager does not automatically launch as expected.
SYMPTOM
After installing Strategy 10.X Secure Enterprise Platform on a Windows Server operating system, users will notice that Strategy Service Manager does not launch automatically despite seeing a shortcut for it in the common user Startup folder (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup):

If the user tries to open Service Manager by double clicking on the shortcut located here, they will see the following error message indicating that the target of the shortcut is invalid:

ACTION
This is a known issue in Strategy 10.X Secure Enterprise Platform. This issue has been addressed in Strategy 10.6 Feature Release. It can also be resolved on earlier Platform and Feature releases using the workaround outlined below.
WORKAROUND
This issue can be resolved by repairing the target of the previously referenced shortcut. As seen in the error message above, there are extra characters in the shortcut target that are erroneously included as part of the file name for the System Manager executable.

Changing the target of the shortcut to the below will resolve this issue (assuming default installation location; target will need to be updated if Strategy is installed in another location)
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\MicroStrategy\MASvcMgr_64.EXE" -s
