KB32101: "Cannot delete "XXX" because other objects depend on it. Do you want to search on the dependent object?" error occurs when trying to delete an attribute that has no apparent dependents in Microstrategy Developer 9.x

When a user attempts to delete an attribute, the following error message appears: "Cannot delete 'Test Attribute' because other objects depend on it. Do you want to search the dependent objects?" Doing a search for dependent objects does not return anything.

SYMPTOM:
When a user attempts to delete an attribute, the following error message appears:

"Cannot delete 'Test Attribute' because other objects depend on it. Do you want to search the dependent objects?"
Doing a search for dependent objects does not return anything.

CAUSE:
Transformation objects do not show as dependent objects on the attribute when doing a search in Developer. This is a known issue in Strategy Developer 9.x

ACTION:
Strategy will continue to investigate and post updates as soon as they are available.
