Attribute mapping method does not default to Manual in MicroStrategy Developer

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Developer, when using the attribute creation wizard, the default “Mapping Method” is set to “Automatic”, not Manual, as shown below:

CAUSE:
This is working as designed.
ACTION:
Manually select "Manual" for Mapping Method.
