KB32270: Administrators are unable to remove linked contacts to users from the user editor in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.x - 10.x

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Developer 9.4.x - 10.x, administrators are unable to remove the linked contact from user via the user editor.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

• In Strategy Developer, create a test user named "John Doe"
• Navigate to Administration ->Delivery Managers ->Contacts
• Create a new address named "Work Email" as seen below. Name this contact "John's Email".
   
  
  

• Make sure to link user John Doe to the contact "John's Email" as seen below:
   
  
  

• The contact "John's Email" appears under user John Doe in the Contacts Monitor as seen below:
   
  
  

• The contact "John's Email" also appears in the user editor for John Doe as seen below:
   
  
  

• Edit user John Doe and remove the above contact from "Contacts linked to the user" as seen below. Click OK.
   
  
  

• Open the user editor for John Doe again and notice the contact "John's Email" that was removed in Step 7 is still there.
   
  
  

CAUSE:
This is an identified defect in Developer 9.4.x - 10.x
 
ACTION:
This issue was reviewed by our Technology team for feasibility and will not be scoped for a code fix in any upcoming Strategy release.
 
WORKAROUND:
To remove a contact for a user, edit the contact from the Contacts Monitor. Within the Contact Editor, go to the Security tab (as seen below) and clear the user from the 'Link contact to user' field. This will remove the contact for user John Doe.
