In Strategy Web users have the ability in their preferences to choose a default start page that will display after logging in. There may be instances where users will need to configure a document as a default start page in Strategy web but also have a link within the document to the out of the box Strategy home page shown below.
A link to the default start page is normally configured by using a URL API with the event code 3010. However, if the document is set as a default start page in Strategy web preferences, the URL created using event code 3010 will link back to the same document since the event code triggers what is set as the default start page in web preferences.
In order to achieve this, users will need to create a link using the "pg" reference in the URL. For instance, to link to the out of the box Strategy home page, the following links can be used:
JSP:
http://WEBSERVER:8080/MicroStrategy/servlet/mstrWeb?pg=desktop
ASP:
http://WEBSERVER/MicroStrategy/asp/Main.aspx?pg=desktop
