This KB walks through the process of migrating a MicroStrategy project to a new database platform using Project Mover.

The Project Mover Wizard guides you through the process of migrating a Strategy project to a new database platform. This can be useful for creating and testing a new project before it is placed in the production database.  The source metadata must be Access as a file needs to be selected in step one.

The following procedure describes how to migrate Strategy Tutorial Project's metadata from Access to SQL Server 2005 in Strategy 9.x and 10.x:

  • Navigate to Programs -> Strategy -> Tools -> Project Mover.
  • Select the metadata databases that contain the source project.
