KB32893: How to collect configuration and package information for the HP-UX operating system.

Community Admin

• Strategy

This document guides users on how to collect basic system information for HP-UX Operating Systems

Important Note: HP-UX is a Certifed Operating System for Strategy Intelligence Server versions 9.4.1 - 10.1. Starting with Strategy version 10.2, this Operating System is no longer Supported.
The HP-UX operating system platform does not appear to offer a tool to comprehensively obtain all the system information. Users can obtain a system configuration summary using the following Ignite-UX command (note that this requires superuser privileges):

# /opt/ignite/bin/print_manifest

Users can also obtain the system basic information by using the following commands:
# /usr/contrib/bin/machinfo

# /usr/sbin/kctune

The HP-UX EMS utilities (XSTM/MSTM/CSTM) also appear to provide at least some of the functionality of Sun explorer. This utility can be invoked using the command:
# /usr/sbin/cstm

Users can obtain more information about this tool at http://docs.hp.com/en/diag/stm/stt_crun.htm, or through the manual pages.

Third Party Software Installation WARNING

The third-party product(s) discussed in this technical note is manufactured by vendors independent of Strategy. Strategy makes no warranty, express, implied or otherwise, regarding this product, including its performance or reliability.
