New feature in MicroStrategy Enterprise Manager 9.x: Reports to provide command manager scripts that can delete unused objects.

Strategy Enterprise Manager project 9.0.1 provides new reports that can provide Strategy Command Manager scripts to delete unused objects in the project. These reports are located in the project under: Public Objects > Reports > Project Analysis > Object Usage Analysis > Command Manager Reporting.

The following reports are available are in the project:

  • 126.1 Delete Unused Attributes
  • 126.10 Delete Unused User Groups
  • 126.11 Delete Unused Users
  • 126.2 Delete Unused DB Instances
  • 126.3 Delete Unused Documents
  • 126.4 Delete Unused Filters
  • 126.5 Delete Unused Metrics
  • 126.6 Delete Unused Reports
  • 126.7 Delete Unused Schedules
  • 126.8 Delete Unused Security Filters
  • 126.9 Delete Unused Templates

These reports are prompted by the objects' creation date and provide a list of objects which were never used. The filter on creation date helps in not deleting objects which were unused because of their recent creation date. An example output of the Command Manager delete statements seen in the report is shown below:

Sample Code/Error
DELETE ATTRIBUTE  'CATALOG'  IN FOLDER   '\SCHEMA OBJECTS\ATTRIBUTES\PRODUCTS'  FROM PROJECT  'Strategy TUTORIAL' ;
