KB32997: How to migrate the Master Health Agent from one machine to another in MicroStrategy 9.x

The Health Center Repository contains the following information:

• System Check subscription information including Weekly or Daily.
• Health Center Update subscription information(weekly).
• Actions History.
• Health Center system topology.
• Diagnostics Package(s) if any.  Note: A Diagnostics package may contain few to hundreds of megabytes (MB).
• Strategy deployment information. For example, the version of an operating system where Strategy Intelligence Server is installed.

 
If the user decides to move a Master Health Agent from one machine (machine_A) to another (machine_B) and would like to keep the above information in Health Center Repository, follow steps below:
 

• On machine_A, launch the Health Center Configuration Wizard and reconfigure the machine as Health Agent.
• On machine_A, go to the folder containing Health Center Repository and duplicate the whole folder (name: "Repository") to machine_B.
   
  Note: to find out the path to the current Health Center Repository, the user can go to the Master Health Agent machine and uses Strategy Health Center Configuration Wizard, see the screen shot below:
   
  

• On machine_B, launch the Health Center Configuration Wizard and configure it as Master Health Agent. Follow steps in the tech note below and choose Reuse an existing information repository in Step 4 in the "Configuring a machine as a Master Health Agent" section.

• Use "Browse..." to choose the location hosting the migrated Health Center Repository.
• Finish the Master Health Agent configuration.

NOTE: The Health Center topology (the Health Center System view displaying the Master Health Agent and Health Agents deployment) will not be the same after the migration. This is expected since the Master Health Agent is switched to another machine and a new topology is needed to reflect this change.
