SYMPTOM:
A user logs into Strategy Web and notices that the name displayed on the top of the welcome page or the project page does not correspond to their name. However, the user can see from the User Manager in Developer that the name is properly set.
CAUSE:
One of the possible causes of this behavior is that this user was created as a duplicate of another user and the duplication was done from a Strategy Developer set in a different language than the one used to create the original user.
To reproduce this behavior in Strategy Tutorial project follow these steps:
This is working as designed (if the option "Use the same language as Strategy Developer" is set in the Language Developer preferences --this option is set to this value by default). The reason is that when users duplicate the user USERENGLISH in the Developer configured in French, the modification of the name of the user is saved in the French translation of the metadata. But when the users login to Strategy Web, it reads from the English translation of the object and therefore displays the original name (USERENGLISH).
ACTION:
In order to solve the problem it is enough to open the translation of the USERFRENCH user (right-mouse-click USERFRENCH > Translate...) and change any mismatching name appearing under the translations section to what would be expected to be displayed in Strategy Web, in this case ''USERFRENCH”.
