KB33617: Using MicroStrategy Intelligence Server 9.x Distribution Services, Report Services documents delivered in the body of the email are not formatted correctly.

SYMPTOM
When a report services document with grid and graphs is delivered in the body of the email using Strategy Distribution Services 9.x, the formatting of the document is not correct. The grids and graphs are not aligned and everything on the layout is right aligned as shown below. This issue is seen only when the delivery is made to Microsoft Outlook 2007.
 

 
On Strategy Web, the document is aligned correctly as shown below.
 

 
CAUSE:
The device options are not correctly set for the Microsoft Outlook device in the Strategy metadata.
 
ACTION:

• On Strategy Developer 9.x, edit the device 'Microsoft Outlook' (or Generic Email Device, if using this device) under Administration > Delivery Managers > Devices.
• Click on the 'Options' button and then check the last checkbox 'Use only Tables to position elements in HTML ' as shown below.
  
  

• Deliveries made after changing the device options will have the document with correct formatting.
   
• Click on OK to save the device.
