SYMPTOM
The following error is received when trying to install the Functions Plugin under Strategy Architect 9.x.

Strategy Desktop Products requirements:
MISSING: Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 (8.0). It is required by Strategy Function Plug-in under Strategy Architect.
CAUSE
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 is missing on the machine when the installation is attempted. The installation is dependent on this particular version of Visual C++ 2005 and cannot proceed even if other versions are installed.
ACTION
Perform a manual install of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 (8.0). The Visual C++ installation shipped with the Strategy installation is not sufficient and users should get the correct version from Microsoft. This should be seen on the list of installed programs as shown below:
