This article descibes a possible cause of the error message "ActiveX component can't create object."

SYMPTOM:
When the user configures a subscription user preference for an object prompt in Strategy Narrowcast, the error below occurs:


ActiveX component can't create object

If the user uses a different machine with Narrowcast installed, this issue does not happen.

CAUSE:
This issue is caused by a faulty installation. The Strategy Narrowcast subscription set editor cannot initialize the prompt interface.

ACTION:
Perform a repair installation of Strategy.
