KB34388: How to Sort the Objects in an Object Prompt that Uses a Pre-Defined List in MicroStrategy Java Web SDK

Using the Strategy Java Web SDK 9.3.x, it is possible to sort the objects listed in an Object Prompt that uses the predefined list option. 
 
Before customization:

Perform the following steps to achieve this customization:
 
 
1. Using the Strategy Web Customization Editor, go the Application Settings tab, and expands the 'Styles' list.
 
2. Scroll the list and locate the style named 'PromptObjectWidgetStyle'. RMC on the style name and chooose 'Open in Editor'.
 
3. Switch to the Style Layouts tab and click on the 'Edit Layout' button to modify the PromptObjectLayout_widget.xml layout file. When prompted  to create a copy, click Yes.
 
4. When the file opens, go to line 118 and change the value to true.
 
Change this:
<mstrlayout:argument type="boolean" value="false"/>
 
to this:
 
<mstrlayout:argument type="boolean" value="true"/>
 
 Note: this line will appear multiple times in the file, but the one that controls the sorting of the predefined list as at line 118.
 
5. Save the changes, then restart the Web Server to see the sorted list.
