Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

This technical note documents a metadata inconsistency that is exposed through MicroStrategy Developer when updating the schema.

SYMPTOM:
When the user updates schema in 3-tier Strategy Developer 9.x and 10.x, the error below occurs:

ka02R000000kbBIQAY_0EM440000002DyP.jpeg

Object with ID '' and type 14 (Hierarchy) is not found in metadata. It may have been deleted.

Object with ID '0' and type %2 (%3) is not found in metadata. It may have been deleted.

This issue only happens in 3-tier. In 2-tier, the update schema works fine without any error.
CAUSE:
The root cause of this issue is still under investigation.
ACTION:
If the user observes this problem, please contact Strategy Technical Support to collect DSSErrors log files from all client machines (which have Strategy Desktop installed) and from all Intelligence Servers.  To further track down the root cause of the issue, make note of any recent deletions of Hiearchies by Strategy Developers.  Enabling Change Journaling can help in this regard.
