KB34509: The error "This document cannot be modified" appears when defining a subject for an email service using the MicroStrategy Narrowcast Administrator Console running on Windows x64.

Describes the error message, cause and resolution when the dhtmled.ocx control file is missing from the machine that is running the MicroStrategy Narrowcast Administrator console.

Symptom

When attempting to define the subject for an email service in Strategy Narrowcast Server 9.x running on Windows x64 (64-bit operating system), the error "This document cannot be modified" following error is seen:

Cause

The file dhtmled.ocx (DHTML Editing Control for Applications Redistributable Package) is missing from the Windows operating system which prevents the Document Editor from being launched properly
Action
