"There are no projects connected to this web server. To configure projects, go to the Web Administrator" error message is seen when trying to configure integrated authentication in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1 and above.

SYMPTOM:
When configuring Integrated Authentication in Strategy Web 9.4.1 and above, users trying to establish a session with Strategy via web receive the following error message:

The same user using Strategy Developer will be able to connect to Strategy and have access to projects

Furthermore, the DSSError.log will show the following error message when trying to connect via web if the authentication trace was enabled via the diagnostics dialog:

"My user is not found"

This issue is specific to Strategy Web ASP running on Microsoft's Internet Information Services IIS

CAUSE:
A possible cause of the above issue is that IIS is using the ASP.NET account when authenticating against the Kerberos KDC or Key Distribution Center. Because the wrong user is being used Strategy does not recognise the user and therefore does not return any projects.

ACTION:
To resolve this issue make sure ASP.NET impersonation is enabled so IIS can execute the authentication code in behalf of the user trying to log in. Using impersonation, ASP.NET applications can execute the processing thread using the identity of the client on whose behalf they are operating.
IIS 7.0
