KB34631: Selected item in shopping cart style hierarchy prompt is not removed from list of available answers in MicroStrategy Web 9.x and 10.x

SYMPTOM:
 
In Strategy Web 9.x and 10.x selected items in a shopping cart style hierarchy prompt are not removed from the list of available answers, even when selected options are set to enable this behavior.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

• Create a new hierarchy prompt or use an exiting one. Modify Web options to set "Display Style" to "Shopping cart".
• Add prompt to new or existing report.
• In Web, Go to Preferences > User Preferences > General, and be sure that the option for 'Cart-Style selections'  is de-selected as shown in the image below:
  
  

• Execute a  report  containing the prompt created in step 1, and make prompt selections. Note that selected items still appear in List of Available Answers.
  
  

CAUSE:
 
This is a known issue with Strategy Web9.x and 10.x
