SYMPTOM
The following error is encountered during the data load process in Strategy Enterprise Manager 9.x:

Execute Query failed. Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLExecDirect. ORA-01400:Cannot insert NULL into ("MICROSTAT"."IS_REP_FACT"."IS_AD_HOC_ID")

CAUSE
The IS_AD_HOC_ID column in the IS_REP_FACT table has a "NOT NULL" constraint. It gets populated from ADHOCINDICATOR column of IS_REPORT_STATS table. The ADHOCINDICATOR column should either have a 0 or 1, if there are NULL values in that column, you would get this error.

ACTION
Run a query through Strategy DB Query Tool and determine the rows in the IS_REPORT_STATS table that have a NULL value for the ADHOCINDICATOR column. The following query may be executed for this purpose:

SELECT * FROM IS_REPORT_STATS WHERE ADHOCINDICATOR IS NULL

Check the data in the REPORTID column from the above results. Depending on whether or not those reports exist in the MD, suitable action can be taken i.e. the ADHOCINDICATOR can be updated with the correct value of 1 or 0. Contact Strategy Technical Support for SQL to update the data in the IS_REPORT_STATS.

WARNING: Strategy Technical Support does not allow users to modify data in the Statistics tables without prior approval. Users who modify the Statistics data without approval from Strategy Technical Support will be considered to have an unsupported configuration.
