Community Admin

• Strategy

The example provided in this document is provided “as-is” to the user and assumes that the user:

  • Can program, compile (e.g. javac, jikes, etc.), and execute Java programs
  • Can configure environment variables (e.g. JAR files, property files, etc.)
  • Have all the necessary tools to create Java applications (JDK, IDE, etc.)
  • Has access to the Strategy SDK documentation.
  • Has read the customization warning at the bottom of this document

PREREQUISITES:

For the sample to work, the Strategy Web JAR files must be accessible by the Java Runtime
Environment. The Strategy Web JAR files can be found under:

  • Strategy Web Universal (JSP): {web_root}/WEB-INF/lib directory.
  • Strategy Web (.NET): Program Files\Common Files\Strategy directory.

The tech note below explains how to remove the file name from URL when exporting a report to PDF or Excel.
KB34558 How to remove the file name from URL when export a report to PDF or Excel using the Strategy Web SDK 9.x?

This tech note explains the steps to remove the file name from URL when exporting a report service document to PDF or Excel.

To remove the file name in the link, follow the steps below:

  • Extend RWSavePropertiesTransform using the code below:

    Java

    package com.Strategy.sdk.samples.transforms;
    import com.Strategy.web.app.transforms.RWSavePropertiesTransform;
    public class customRWSavePropertiesTransform extends RWSavePropertiesTransform {
    public String getFormActionName(){
    String temp=super.getFormActionName();//Get the URL form
    return(temp.substring(0, temp.indexOf("&n")));//Remove the file name by getting the substring before "&n".
    }
    }

  • In Web Customization Editor, go to Application Settings > Strategy Web Configuration > Styles.
    Modify the transform for RWFastExportStyle as shown below:

  • Restart the web server for the customization to take effect.
