Date values field older than 12/31/1899 stored in Oracle database displays on the report as only time on Desktop and as correct Date on Web in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x

SYMPTOM
In Strategy 9.4.1 and 10.x date values  older than 12/31/1899 stored in an Oracle database are displayed on reports as time only  in Strategy Developer as shown in  the image below:

CAUSE
Older dates than 12/31/1899 get represented using negative numbers. Strategy Developer can not display such negative numbers for dates and are therefore displayed as times. Dates starting from 1/1/1900 can be represented in correctly in Strategy Developer.
 
ACTION
Use Strategy Web to execute reports with dates older than 12/31/1899.
