KB35255: “Can not join server;: possible reasons: servers are not compatible, or the remote server is not reachable” error occurs when joining a node in a cluster in MicroStrategy Universal 9.x and newer

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Universal 9.x,  join a new node to configure clustered environment, below error appears in Strategy Developer:

I-Servers cannot be clustered; Error “Can not join server;: 
possible reasons: servers are not compatible, or the remote server is not 
reachable”

In DSSError.log, below entries can be found:

ClusterManager: Can not join server <server name>;: possible reasons: 
servers are not compatible, or the remote server is not reachable

CAUSE:
Projects have different Project IDs in two nodes.
 
ACTION:
Configure Intelligence Server to use the same server definition in the cluster.
