Compound metrics or metrics with dimensionalities, conditions or transformations will not be added" error message appears when adding a metric in Advanced Metric Assistant in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x

SYMPTOM
When adding a metric through the Advanced Metric Assistant in Strategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x, the following error message appears:

Compound metrics or metrics with dimensionalities, conditions or transformations will not be added.

CAUSE
This is working as designed. This error happens because the metric being added is a compound metric or has a dimensionality, condition or transformation defined.  An enhancement request has been filed for this.
 
ACTION
Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on this issue.
