KB35322: What should be expected when Undo Package is imported to the destination project with MicroStrategy Object Manager 10.x and 11.x?

QUESTION:
 Undo Package is a convenient option to roll back some changes made by importing packages using Strategy Object Manager. What are the exact operations that will be undone by importing Undo package?
 
ANSWER:
Undo package will remove only the object migrated by the .mmp file. It will not undo the operation performed by other .mmp file even though they are imported around the same time. For example:
 

• Create 3 metrics - Test Cost, Test Profit, and Test Revenue in the source project.
   
  

• Create 3 package files including each metric object only. Make sure to select "Generate Undo and then import package" option.
   
  

•  
  Confirm 3 sets of import and undo packages are created:
   
  

• One at a time, import all of the packages to the destination project and confirm all 3 metrics are created.
   
  

• Now, go back to Object Manager and execute the undo package for Test Cost.
   
  

• Go back to the destination project and confirm only Test Cost was removed while the rest of two metric remained:
   
  

Note: These operations will not delete any entry in Change Journaling.
