KB35347: "The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file (unknown). It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data" error occurs when executing datamart reports in 3Tier in MicroStrategy Developer 9.x

SYMPTOM:
 
In Strategy Developer 9.x, when users execute a datamart report writing to a Microsoft Access database, they receive the error below:
 
Index out of range[]Index out of range[]Index out of range[]Index out of range[]Query Engine encountered error: Connect failed.
Error type: Odbc error.  Odbc operation attempted: SQLDriverConnect. The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'.  It is alread opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data. 
 
While getting this error in 3-tier, users are able to execute the same report in 2 tier, writing to the same Microsoft Access database without any issues.
 
CAUSE:
 
One possible cause of this error is that the Windows account that the Intelligence Server is running under does not have access to the path where the access datmart file is located.
 
ACTION:
 
Make sure that the user running the Strategy Intelligence Server process has  proper access to the datamart file location.
