This article describes two possible causes and resolutions for the error message "Loading Warehouse Catalog is disabled. Only existing tables will display ..." in MicroStrategy Architect

SYMPTOM:
Error message on Strategy Architect: "Loading Warehouse Catalog is disabled. Only existing tables will display. To show available tables in the Warehouse, click on the Settings menu to change the permission."
 
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Open Strategy Developer 10.x and go to Schema > Architect.
2. Click on Project Tables View.
3. Expand one of the database instances.

CAUSE:
This error can be due to two different causes: either the "Read Only Mode..." option is enabled under the Schema menu or the "Disable loading warehouse catalog" option in Architect's main settings is enabled. A screenshot of Read-Only mode is below:

ACTION:
Uncheck the "Read Only Mode..." option under the Schema menu on Strategy Desktop/Developer and ensure that the "Disable loading warehouse catalog" check box is cleared:

Note: To access the Architect settings, click on the globe in the top left corner and select Settings.
