In some use cases of MicroStrategy Web for ASP.NET deployed on Microsoft IIS 10.x, increasing the default executionTimeout parameter on the httpRuntime handler is necessary to allow time-consuming processes on the MicroStrategy Web Server to complete.

In some use cases of Strategy Web 9.x for ASP.NET deployed on Microsoft IIS 10.x, increasing the default executionTimeout parameter on the httpRuntime handler is necessary to allow time-consuming processes on the Strategy Web Server to complete. To modify this setting, follow these steps:

  • In Microsoft IIS, navigate to your Strategy application

  • In the Features pane, launch the Configuration Editor under Management:

  • From the dropdown, select system.web > httpRuntime

  • Here, locate the executionTimeout parameter. The default value for this parameter is 110 seconds and is in the format hh:mm:ss. Adjust this setting to an appropriate value for your specific Strategy Web usage.
