SYMPTOM
"The source manipulator found a missing dependency. Object: is not found. A total of 1 object(s) need it..." error message appears when importing a package in Strategy Object Manager 9.x.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Executed the following in Strategy Tutorial:
- In a source project create a package using Strategy Object Manager as follows. From Toolbar - Tools, select Create Package.
- On the Create Package editor, click on the add button and in the Add objects editor, select 'Import selected objects'. navigate to Schema Objects - Tables folder and select a table. Select action as 'Replace'or 'Use Newer'. Create the Package.
- Import the package into a project which has a similar schema. The following error is displayed:
The source manipulator found a missing dependency. Object: <DB Table id=xxxxx> is not found. A total of 1 object(s) need it, one of which is TABLE_NAME
<Table id=xxxxx>. Please turn on the log for more information.
CAUSE
One of the reasons this error message is displayed is because the "Add All used Dependencies" button has not been clicked in the editor when creating the package. In such case, some objects might be missing from the target project and therefore source manipulator complains about the missing objects.
ACTION
The "Add All used Dependencies" button on the Create Package editor should be clicked.
