KB36300: "DB Instance object 'object name' (ID: object GUID) cannot be deleted because DB Table object ... depends on it" error message appears when deleting a database instance object in MicroStrategy Developer 9.x and 10.x

SYMPTOM:

When the user deletes a database instance object, the error below occurs:

DB Instance object 'DB instance object name' (ID: DB instance object GUID) cannot be deleted because DB Table object 'Table object name' (ID: Table object GUID) in project 'project name' (ID: project GUID) depends on it.

However, when the user checks the Project Configuration, this database instance is not selected as an available database instance.

CAUSE:

The Table specified in the error message is a managed object created by the Strategy XDA feature. It depends on the database instance object. Since the database instance is not selected in the available source, this managed Table object failed to be recycled at some point.

ACTION:

To remove the dependency, the user can use the "Delete unused managed objects" feature to force the recycle process.

Once the process is done, the user can now remove the database instance.
