KB36435: How to remove the "Welcome User. (If you are not User, click here.)" message from the Desktop page in MicroStrategy Web 9.x

SYMPTOM:
The 'Welcome User. (If you are not User, click here.)' message appears on top of the Desktop page when the user first logs into Strategy Web 9.x.
 
To remove the link, apply the following steps using the Web Customization Editor:

1. In the Web Customization Editor, in the Application tab expand Strategy Web Configuration 
2. Expand Pages
3. Open the desktop(Desktop) page
    
   a. Choose the Template Properties tab
   b. Right-click on the content section and choose "edit current file"
   c. Comment out the content under first section which says, 'The following DIV renders the "If you are not " string so a user can logout':

   d. Save the file.
   
4. Open welcome(WELCOME) page. Follow the same steps as above, commenting out the section from

   Save the file.
5. Restart the Web Server 
6. Now, when users login to Strategy Web 9.x, the link will no longer be visible.
