How to start MicroStrategy Health Center as a service/ daemon on a Linux/Unix machine.

On a Linux or Unix machine users have the option to configuring Strategy Health Center as a service/ daemon.

When the configuration is finished the Health Center service will automatically start.

If the Health Center service is killed manually, it is necessary to start Strategy Health Center as a service again by going through the configuration and  restarting the machine.  Restarting the machine will cause the Health Center service to start again automatically.

The command to run the Health Center configuration wizard is located in the Strategy bin folder.  A GUI must be enabled before running the below command.  To open the Configuration Wizard:
Sample Code/Error
mstrsuppappcfgwizw

If a user is unsure if the Health Center service is running they can run the below command to check:
Sample Code/Error
ps -ef|grep HealthCenter
ps -ef|grep MSTRExec (For Solaris)

A user can also log into the Health Center Console and see if the machine is connected to the Master Health Agent.  Or, if the machine is the Master Health Agent, see if the Health Center Console allows the user to log in.

If users are still unsure if the process is running please contact Strategy Technical Support for further assistance.
