KB37007: The Fit width or Fit page zoom factors are not saved in a dashboard in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1.

The Fit width or Fit page zoom factors are not saved in a dashboard in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1.

SYMPTOM
Dashboards can be set to  'fit width' of the browser window by using the zoom feature in Strategy Web 9.2.0. However, the 'fit width' and 'fit page' options are not dynamic and will not be saved as a selection when the dashboards are saved.  When saved, the function will calculate the current zoom percentage and will assign this number as a constant value to the zoom factor.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. Create an empty dashboard and execute it in Editable mode.
  2. Change the zoom factor to 'Fit Width' or 'Fit Page'
  3. Notice the value will change to a static percentage value.
  4. When the dashboards is saved, the percentage value is saved to the dashboard instance and not the actual 'Fit Width' or 'Fit Page' function.

CAUSE
This functionality is by design. Due to high interest to change this behavior to dynamically apply the fit width or fit page options upon next dashboard execution. This issue is specific to Strategy 9.4.1, since the new Presentation Mode in Strategy Web 10.x does not exhibit the same behavior.

ACTION
This issue no longer occurs in Strategy Web 10.x. Upgrade to take advantage of a fix.

WORKAROUND
After reexecuting the document, use the Zoom feature again to set fit to width or fit to page.
