KB37021: A user is unable to sort a grid inside a Report Services Document when "Show option for Total" is selected in MicroStrategy Web 9.x and 10.x flash, HTML, and interactive views

SYMPTOM:
A user is unable to sort a grid in a Report Services Document when the Total option is selected for any view given.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

• Create a report with Year Category, Subcategory and Revenue. 
• Create a Dashboard with the report from step 1 as the dataset.
• Create a grid on the Dashboard with Year in rows, Revenue on top of Subcategory in the columns
• Create a selector for Category that points to the grid created in step 3
• In the selectors properties deselect 'Apply Selection as filter' and select 'Show option for Total'
• Run the Dashboard and the Subcategory cannot be sort in descending order as shown in the image below: 

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy 9.x and 10.x.
 
ACTION:
This issue was reviewed by our Technology team for feasibility and will not be scoped for a code fix in any upcoming Strategy release.
