KB37100: Unable to subscribe other users to a Mobile subscription report in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.x-10.x.

SYMPTOM:
This technote explains how a user is unable to subscribe other users to a Mobile subscription in Strategy Developer 9.4.x-10.x.  Consider the following scenario:

• Create two users – Demo1 and Demo2.  The requirement is to log in as Demo1 and subscribe Demo2 to a Mobile subscription.
• Log into Developer as Demo1.
• Right-click on a report and go to Schedule Delivery to-> Mobile
• As seen below, the option to add users to a Mobile subscription is grayed out.
  

 
 
CAUSE:
This is because the privileges for Demo1 have not been set up properly.  In order for a user to create subscriptions for others, either via Developer or Web, the Web Professional privilege ‘Web subscribe others’ is required.
 
 
ACTION:
Edit the user Demo1 (the one creating the Mobile subscription) and make sure the Web Professional privilege ‘Web subscribe others’ is enabled.
 

 
In addition, add the user Demo1 to the ACL of the user Demo2 (user being subscribed).  To schedule subscription for another user, the user creating the subscription needs to have User & Browse permissions on the target user.

 
Once these permissions are set up, log in as Demo1 and this time the option to add users will be enabled.

 
As expected, Demo2 shows up.
