This knowledge base article explains why "Failed to load control 'msiObjectExplorer' from M3OBJEXP.OCX" error message appears when launching MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.x

SYMPTOM:
After the user installs or upgrades to Strategy 9.4.x and 10.x, Developer cannot start and gives the error below:

ka02R000000kVPMQA2_0EM440000002JMz.jpeg

Failed to load control 'msiObjectExplorer' from M3OBJEXP.OCX. Your version of M3OBJEXP.OCX may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application.

CAUSE:
One possible cause of this issue is because the machine is missing the 3rd party component, Microsoft Dynamic HTML Editing Control. When starting Strategy Developer, the process tries to look for DHTMLEd.ocx under "\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\DhtmlEd" folder.

ACTION:
The user should install this 3rd party component again by going to the Strategy installation package "\Installations\Utilities\3rdParty\Triedit" and execute "DhtmlEd.msi" file.
