KB37266: How to regionalize metric values without changing regional settings in MicroStrategy Developer 9.x

Strategy sets the locale symbols based on the regional settings of the machine. However, through the use of custom metric formatting, it is possible to display the value of a metric with different locale symbols without changing the machines regional settings.
 
This can be done by performing the following steps:

1. Right click on the metric > formatting > metric values
2. Under the number tab, click custom and enter the following "€" #"."###"."###

 
The result will look like the screenshot below:

 
In order to display decimal values in this same manner:

1. right click on the metric > formatting > metric values
2. Under the number tab, click custom and enter the following "€" ###"."###","##
3. In order to shift the decimal places into the correct position, multiply your metric value by 100.
