After applying the changes of KB34451 - How to Change the Browser Title to Display Custom Text in MicroStrategy Java Web SDK 9.3.1, the browser title for sub-folders within the Shared Reports page still display Strategy 9.

To modify the browser title, follow these steps:

For ASP.Net:

  1. Make a copy of the original ..\Web ASPx\asp\xhr.aspx file.
  2. Modify ..\Web ASPx\asp\xhr.aspx.
  3. Locate the text 'Strategy 9' in the page and change it to the required text.
  4. Save the file.
  5. Using the Web Customization Editor (WCE) go to Application Settings > Web Configuration Settings > double-click on Strategy Configuration Settings to open it.
  6. Under Server Configuration Files > Application XHR point to the newly created xhr.aspx file.
  7. Save and restart the application server to see the changes.

For JSP:

  1. Make a copy of the original ..\jsp\xhr.jsp file.
  2. Modify ..\jsp\xhr.jsp.
  3. Locate the text 'Strategy 9' in the page and change it to the required text.
  4. Save the file.
  5. Using the Web Customization Editor (WCE) go to Application Settings > Web Configuration Settings > double-click on Strategy Configuration Settings to open it.
  6. Under Server Configuration Files > Application XHR point to the newly created xhr.jsp file.
  7. Save and restart the application server to see the changes.

Other files need to be modified separately similar to that of the xhr.jsp / xhr.aspx to change the browser title.  They are as follows:

  • Express Mode page’s browser title.  Steps to modify this are as follows:
    1. In the Web Customization Editor > Application Settings tab, expand the Pages list.
    2. Locate the page named oivm(Optimized Interactive View Mode) and open in the editor.
    3. Switch to the Template Properties tab and locate the Template File field.
    4. Click the Modify button and click Yes to make a copy. Click OK to refresh the pages, since this change will impact all pages.
    5. Make a copy of the original ..\jsp\Mojo_Section.jsp file (or ..\asp\Mojo_Section.asp file).
    6. Locate the text 'Strategy 9' in the Mojo_Section file and change it to the required text then save it.
    7. Change the path attribute in the Mojo_Template file to point to the modified Mojo_Section file. The path should be either "/plugins/plugin_name/asp/Mojo_Section.ascx" or "/plugins/plugin_name/jsp/Mojo_Section.jsp".
    8. Save the file and restart Strategy Web to see the changes.

  • Administrator page’s browser title.  Steps to modify this are similar to that of Express mode, but for step 2, the welcomeadmin(Home Page from Admin Servlet) will be used.
