KB37747: In MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1 and above, grid content does not overflow when exporting documents in PDF and Excel, even though the "Grid Overflow(PDF & Excel)" option is set to "Fit to grid contents" and only the first page prints

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web, grid content does not overflow when exporting documents in PDF and Excel, even though the "Grid Overflow(PDF & Excel)" option is set to "Fit to grid contents" and only the first page prints.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

• Create a grid report with a lot of data/rows, e.g. Store attribute and Revenue metric
• Create document and insert the above report as dataset
• Edit the document in design mode, click on the grid report and choose "Properties and Formatting">select "Layout" and under "Grid Overflow (PDF & Excel)', choose "Fit to grid contents"
   
  

• Save document and run it --> the data will display properly
   
  

• Export the document to PDF or Excel--> only the first page will print and the rest of the data does not overflow or print in more pages
  Note: The data will be printed according to the size of the page and not the document
  
  

CAUSE:
A possible cause of the issue is that the setting "Clip contents of panel stack before export" is enabled for the panel that contains the grid.
 
ACTION:
For the panel that contains the grid , Go to Properties and Formatting --> Advanced --> Export --> Disable " Clip contents of panel stack before export " . The PDF export after disabling this option shows the entire grid.
