Error seen when performing a data load in MicroStrategy Enterprise Manager 9.x

SYMPTOM:
When performing a data load in Strategy Enterprise Manager,  the following DB2 error is observed:

The transaction log for the database is full. For more information, please consult DB2 document for error code SQL0964.DELETE FROM EM_LOG

CAUSE:
This issue is caused by the accumulation of log space in the Transaction Log  for the database.   Strategy Enterprise Manager is designed to use a small number of COMMIT statements when performing the data loads, however, this may cause log space to become consumed.    The error is seen when the threshold for the LOGFILSIZ parameter in DB2 is hit.

ACTION:
There are a few ways to prevent this issue from occurring:

1.  The  database administrator can modify the DB2 configuration to significantly increase the number of secondary log files kept in the Transaction Log. This is done by changing the parameter called "LOGSECOND" on the database side.

2.  Increase the frequency of data loads in order to load less data per execution.

The Strategy Internal Reference Number for the issue discussed in this technical note is 489195.
