KB37912: When a user creates a contact to subscribe to a report via email in MicroStrategy 9.x and 10.x, all users that can subscribe to the report can see that contact.

When a user creates a contact to subscribe to a report via email in MicroStrategy 9.x and 10.x, all users that can subscribe to the report can see that contact.

SYMPTOM:
After creating a contact to subscribe to a report via email in Strategy 9.x and 10.x, the user may want that contact to only be avaialble to users of a certain group. Since contacts and contact groups do not have an ACL, users may try to control access through the ACL of the users and groups, by denying access to a group of users to all other users who do not belong to that same group.

However, even after setting this up, users realize that when creating a new email subscription, all contacts are available and they cannot be hidden from a specific group of users.

CAUSE:
This is a known enhancement for Strategy 9.x and 10.x.

ACTION:
Strategy will continue to investigate and post updates as soon as they are available.
