In MicroStrategy Web 9.2.1, the "Lock Row Headers" functionality  is not working properly in Internet Explorer 9 and Mozilla Firefox browsers. However, it does work properly in Internet Explorer 7 and 8.

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web 9.2.1, the "Lock Row Headers" functionality  is not working properly in Internet Explorer 9 and Mozilla Firefox browsers. However, it does work properly in Internet Explorer 7 and 8.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
In Strategy Web 9.2.1:

  • Create grid report with 20 attribute columns or more and lock row headers

  • Run the report in Firefox or Internet Explorer 9--> the row headers do not lock and users are still able to scroll to the right and see all columns

  • If you run the report in Internet Explorer 7 or 8, the row headers lock and the user is not able to move the scroll

CAUSE:
The is based on the fact that the report contains only attributes. In other words, locking the row headers will work only when there is a metric on the report template. If the issue occurs when metrics are present on the report template, disable the compatibility mode of IE.
ACTION:
Disable the compatibility view in IE to be able to use the page with  full range of its functionalities.
