KB38141: DSSErrors.log stopped logging abruptly in MicroStrategy 9.x and newer.

This KB addresses an issue seen when the DSSErrors.log stops logging due to lack of disk space.

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy 9.x ad newer, when looking at the DSSErrors.log, it seems that logging to the file stopped abruptly  around the time there was a service crash and after restarting the server, no new logging is being saved to the DSSErrors.log.

CAUSE:
A possible cause is that the most recent crash created a core dump file that took up all remaining hard drive space. If there isn't enough hard drive space, the intelligence server will no longer log to the DSSErrors.log.
ACTION:
Free up disk space on the Intelligence Server and it may be necessary to restart the Intelligence Server for logging to resume to the DSSErrors.log.
