In Strategy Web 9.x, toolbar items can be disabled using the Customization Editor.

In order to accomplish this, make sure the Customization Wizard is set up properly.  For information on how to set up the Customization Wizard, refer to the MSDL article:
Introduction to Web Customization Editor

The ‘Re-Prompt’ toolbar item can be found in the rwStandardToolbarFSM toolbar. In order to limit the view on this option, a feature that defines the set of users for whom access is limited needs to be set up.  Here are high level steps to carry out this customization:

  • Create a feature that defines the set of users in which the toolbar items should be restricted.  A sample feature can be found in the MSDL:

    https://resource.microstrategy.com/MSDZ/MSDL/AnalyticsEnterprise/docs/mergedProjects/websdk/topics/objbeans/Web_Feature_Examples.htm

The above sample can also be found in the MSDL at the following location:
Home -> Web SDK -> Customizing Strategy Web -> Part I: Fundamentals of Customization -> Additional Application Settings -> Using Web Features -> Web Feature Examples

  • Modify the rwStandardToolbarFSM toolbar via the Web Customization Editor by going to Application Settings tab -> Strategy Web Configuration -> Toolbars -> rwStandardToolbarFSM-> rwStandardToolbarFSM -> Data -> tbReprompt

  • Double-click on the item above and the below editor appears:

  • In the section “Display this item only if the following feature(s) is(are) available”, add the feature created in the first step.

Note:  This feature is defined to return TRUE.  Thus, developers need to use the "not this feature logic".  For example: "!groupX", if group X contains the list of users in which the toolbar item should not appear. The exclamation mark indicates "not".
