Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

This article notes a scenario with unsigned integers and mySQL

SYMPTOM:
Strategy returns all integers as signed when connecting to a MySQL database using unsigned integers.  If the value of the unsigned integer is larger than the maximum value of a signed integer, 2147483647, then the value will come back rounded down to 2147483647.

CAUSE:
Strategy stores all integers as signed.

ACTION:
Change the column alias to Big Integer or Big decimal for the fact/attribute being used.
