When attempting to run a FreeForm SQL report in MicroStrategy Developer or Web 9.4.1 and 10.x, the following error is received:: "Data truncated, column XX, due to the setting for StaticCursorLongColBuffLen For more information, please consult DB2 documentation for error code SQL00"

SYMPTOM:
When attempting to run a FreeForm SQL report in Strategy Developer or Web 9.4.1 and 10.x, the following error is received:

ka02R000000kXJmQAM_0EM440000002DQJ.jpeg

Data truncated, column XX, due to the setting for StaticCursorLongColBuffLen For more information, please consult DB2 documentation for error code SQL00

CAUSE:
This error is in regards to the "Static Cursor Long Column Buffer" in the ODBC connection which needs to be set larger than the maximum data expected. This setting should be set in bytes and larger than the largest expected BLOB.

ACTION:
This setting is in the ODBC.ini file as StaticCursorLongColBuffLen=xxxxx where xxxxx is the size in bytes.  Setting this to the maximum data to be passed will allow the report or document to be run without issues.
