KB38947: How to configure XQuery Database Instances to connect via proxy servers in MicroStrategy 9.2.0 and above.

Starting from Strategy 9.2.0, users are able to connect to XQuery database instances via proxy servers. Follow the steps below to achieve this:   
 

• Edit the XQuery Database Instance and corresponding Database Connection.
• Go to the Advanced Tab in Database Connection, and in Additional connection string parameters enter the follow string:
   
  

  
  PROXY_HOST=IPAddress;PROXY_PORT=Port;PROXY_AUTH_TYPE=Basic;PROXY_USER=xxx;PROXY_PASSWORD=xxx

  
  
  

Connection String Details:
a) PROXY_HOST: IP address or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the proxy host.  
b) PROXY_PORT: Port of proxy host.
c) PROXY_AUTH_TYPE: Optional field. Could be either BASIC or DIGEST.  
d) PROXY_USER: Optional field. User ID for the proxy user. In case this is the same as DB Login UID, placholder "PROXY_USER=#?DBLOGIN_UID?#" can be used here. 
e) PROXY_PASSWORD: Optional field. Password for the proxy user. In case this is the same as DB Login Password, placholder "PROXY_PASSWORD=#?DBLOGIN_PWD?#" can be used here.
