KB39111: Element caches are not created when scheduled reports are executed as a subscription in MicroStrategy Developer 9.x

Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

Element Caches are not created when scheduled reports are run as a subscription.

SYMPTOM:
Element Caches are not created when scheduled reports are run as a subscription.
EXAMPLE:
Consider a prompted scheduled report. When the schedule is triggered by an event, the prompts are not queried against the warehouse.  Instead either the element selected goes into the WHERE clause of the final report query, or the final report query runs without any WHERE clause in the filter.   The queries for getting the elements of the prompts never run against the Database.
ACTION:
This is working as designed. Element cache will not be created when the report is executed through a subscription even if element caching is enabled.
