KB39254: When generating the activate.xml file to manually activate a newly upgraded license key, the file is not generated correctly in MicroStrategy 9.x and newer

When generating the activate.xml file to manually activate a newly upgraded license key, the file is not generated correctly in MicroStrategy 9.x and newer

SYMPTOM:

When attempting to activate a newly upgraded license key on a machine which does not have access to the Internet, the activate.xml file is not correctly updated to reflect the newly installed license key, i.e. the activate.xml file still reflects the previous license key installed.

ACTION:

Rename the current activate.xml file or move it to another location and activate the installation again using License Manager. A new activate.xml file should be generated which will reflect the latest license key installed.

Note:

Do not delete the existing activate.xml until the installation has been successfully activated.
